I had all these images from a trip down the great ocean Road and my biggest regret was not having and filters with… the cloud movement was perfect for a long exposure.
I have seen images done before called ‘time stacking’ but the end result is a dotted sky so I was after something that would make the image appear more like a long exposure.
I started by editing one image in Lightroom because the GoPro only shoots jpg – I found there was not a great deal I could do other than some slight adjustments. I then sync the changes to the other 94 images I had taken and then exported them as layers into photoshop. **I don’t export them as smart objects as this opens each image on its own
This will take some time depending on your PC.
Once they are all in Photoshop, shift-click on all the layers then right click on one and convert them to a smart object.
Once this has been completed don’t freak out that there is now only 1 image.
You will then need to:
1) go to the layers menu
2) click on smart object and;
3) select blend mode as ‘mean’
And you’re done!
Bar any other adjustments you want to make (I cropped mine to 1 x 1 mainly to remove the other Photographer from the image but it also made it more pleasing to the eye!).
