NORTH NARRABEEN POOL /ROCK SHELF – PHOTOGRAPHY LOCATION GUIDE
North Narrabeen rock pool is a favourite amongst photographers on the northern beaches. It has a lot to offer and is pretty easy to access. With a flat level walk from the car park to the pool itself. The pool has a Timber walkway seperating the lanes to the rest of the pool.
There is a caravan park across the road from the car park for those of you that don’t live on the northern beaches it has self contained suite and pleanty of camp/caravan sites the park is pretty full during school holidays.
The Pool is also cleaned regularly by the council weekly during summer and then fortnightly during winter the council has a roster located here
Around the end of April and the beginning of May if you get the right day you will be able to line the sun-rising with the end of the boardwalk. The other main photo comp at North Narrabeen is the famous gorge at the end of pool. The pool itself has a number of different photo opportunities with the shorter board walk at the end of the pool running nth to sth, the ocean side of the pool with waves crashing over it all make for good images. This zigzag little channel will provide you with a number of shoot and keep you coming back to this location until you nail the shoot (which i’m still trying to myself) Feather along the rock shelf you will find another channel that is angled slightly south.
